Audible Futures - Advanced Audio & Video Podcasting (Manchester)

‘Audible Futures’ with Gaydio is a powerful podcast series that explores the diverse experiences of LGBTQ+ individuals across the North West and is a spin-off of our 'Audible Lives' Podcast series. Through personal storytelling and shared advice, participants open up about their journeys and offer insight to others in the community.

This project is taking place in both Manchester and Liverpool, where participants will attend a series of sessions focused on storytelling, interviewing, and podcast recording & production. You will be guided by podcast professionals, including Emma Goswell, a multi-award-winning podcaster and author. After the initial session, you are tasked with interviewing LGBTQ+ individuals and allies from across the UK, using these conversations as the foundation for their group-created podcasts.

Course Layout

1. Introduction to Gaydio, our audience, skills in podcast creation & learning about the studio.

2. Learning skills in storytelling, scripting, and creating the perfect intro

3. Prepare the layout for the recording and studio set-up

4. Studio podcast record day

5. Editing video and audio you have gathered to be uploaded to a world-leading podcasting platforms

Location, Dates and Times

Location: Gaydio, Manchester One Building, 53 Portland Street, Manchester, M1 3LF

Course Dates: 13th to 18th May 2026

Course Time: 10am to 4pm

Cost: Free for all participants (who meet the criteria below)

Criteria

• You must be aged 16 to 30

• Must be living in the North West Area

• As this series is built around authentic LGBTQ+ experiences, priority will be given to applicants who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ community.

• Must be available for all dates above

• Must not have done a previous 'Advanced Podcast Course or Audible Lives' course with Gaydio
